Gabriela is based in San Diego and works with tech startups, global corporations and public agencies. Her specialty is modernization and innovation through change management and process re-engineering, often helping public agencies implement emerging technologies, practices and programs. As a founding member of the e-Government firm GovPartner, Gabriela led business development and marketing efforts for twelve years helping to establish the company as an industry leader in the U.S. and U.A.E. (GovPartner was acquired by CarteGraph in 2013). Gabriela currently serves as a partner and spokesperson for Plug and Play San Diego, director with NV5 and owner ofMora Dow Consulting serving companies like Atkins Global, Cumming Corp, StartupCircle and cities throughout California. In 2007, Gabriela founded another startup, Friends With Class, which was an online class catalog of custom classes that was profitable within 90 days offering over 200 classes with a roster of 40 instructors and over 2,000 members.
Gabriela’s career began as a journalist, working at two CNN bureaus (Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles) and CBS in Los Angeles. She worked at the White House Office of Public Liaison, followed by work on Press Advance for a successful presidential re-election campaign. She worked as an Intergovernmental Affairs Officer for Governor Pedro Rossello’s Washington, D.C. office and a La Jolla public affairs firm. Gabriela is a native of Guadalajara, Mexico and graduate from UCLA. She also studied international relations and journalism at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain.
